Every day a movie is playing to honor Harry’s 42nd birthday.
If you (a Muggle) didn’t already know, Harry Potter’s birthday is on July 31.
On Sunday, the adored character from J.K. Rowling turns 42. Feeling senile? Us too.
The Studio One Hotel is holding a week-long Harry Potter Movie Marathon in their Screening Room to commemorate his 42nd orbit around the sun.
Starting on Tuesday, July 26 and running through Sunday, July 31, tickets are Dhs 49 for each movie and popcorn, or Dhs 149 for all eight movies and popcorn.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone will open the eight-movie marathon on Tuesday at 7pm (2001). Every day of the week will feature a different movie, with two showings on Saturday and Sunday and the two Deathly Hallows movies on Sunday.
The films The Prisoner of Azkaban (2004), The Goblet of Fire (2005), and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002) will be shown on Wednesday, July 27, at 7 p.m.
The party really gets going on the weekends when the Screening Room transforms into Hogwarts. There will be Quidditch Pong, food, and décor in the Harry Potter theme. Dressing up is encouraged, and Potterheads are invited to wear their robes and grab their wands.
The Half-Blood Prince (2009) will be shown at 8.30 p.m. on Saturday, July 30 after Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) at 6 p.m.
The party will then come to an epic end with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (2010) and Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011) on Harry’s actual birthday, Sunday, July 31.
For those who grow hungry while watching, you can purchase a bottle of grape juice and pizza for Dhs159 or a soft drink and pizza for Dhs89.
Take your housemates and apparate to Studio One Hotel this week if you’re a-Dumbledore Harry Potter.
